Positive Prevention:All 7th Grade students will participate in our Contra Costa County Health Unit: Positive Prevention. This program covers a wide range of topics including bullying, self-esteem, peer pressure, personal safety awareness and other relevant topics for todays youth. This is the second part of three (Grades 5,7, & 9) Health Units throughout our K-12 program. This curriculum is available for all parents to view online. Please click below for more information.

Parents All students are to come to class prepared with both their materials and their minds ready. The most important thing is to make sure to get enough sleep each night and eat a healthy breakfast each morning. Please turn in your work, in whatever format is required, with your name on it. I use a variety of methods to assess my students and will have labs, projects, presentations and collaborative group work that will allow students to show their knowledge of the content through hands-on experiments and activities.
Grades are based upon the weighted value of each assignment. Most of the classwork will be hands-on. Students are expected to participate in activities and treat all people, animals and equipment with respect. For more information, please click below for the syllabus. |
ProjectsThere will be a variety of projects, labs, and collaborative group work throughout the year. Most of the work will be done in class and some will be done at home, if students do not use their class-time wisely. Please be prepared to collaborate with your peers and present your findings during projects in an oral presentation.
